Before inserting wedge into pipe, the top nut on the hollow shank of wedge may need to be adjusted so that the wedge slips snugly into pipe. To adjust tightness of wedge, grasp bottom of hollow shank and turn the top nut until the wedge fits into the pipe snugly.
Insert wedge into pipe. Tighten top nut until wedge cannot be pulled out by hand.
Attach hole saw to a drill. A strong electric angle drill will work best.
Insert arbor into hollow shank.
WITHOUT TOUCHING SAW TEETH TO PLASTIC FLANGE, start the drill spinning and SLOWLY lower teeth into flange to begin cutting.
IMPORTANT: UPON INITIAL CONTACT WITH THE TEETH OF THE SAW AND THE FLANGE, INSURE THAT THE DRILL IS HELD VERY SECURE WITH TWO HANDS AND IS ALIGNED PROPERLY INTO THE HOLLOW SHANK.
Continue to cut down through flange using very light pressure and keep drill aligned. For best results while drilling, raise the bit up out of the cut while spinning EVERY 2 SECONDS and then push it back down. This will spin out any built up PVC shavings and make cutting much easier. If drill bogs down….you have too many shavings under it.
